HiCrome™ Colistin Resistant Agar Base
Details
It is a chromogenic medium designed for the detection and differentiation of Colistin resistant species of Enterobacteriaceae, Escherichia coli, K pneumoniae and Salmonella species. Presence of amino acids like phenylalanine and tryptophan from peptones helps for detection of tryptophan deaminase activity, indicating the presence of Proteus species, Morganella species and Providencia species by appearing brown. The medium is intended to be used as a screening medium. Isolates should be tested further for colistin susceptibility following CLSI guidelines.
