Target Information

Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 (NOTCH2) is a highly conserved protein in the Notch signaling pathway. It is a type I transmembrane protein with an extracellular domain composed of multiple EGF-like repeats and an intracellular domain with diverse domain types.
NOTCH2 acts as a receptor for membrane-bound ligands Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta1, regulating cell-fate determination.
Mutations in NOTCH2 cause Alagille syndrome type 2 (ALGS2), an autosomal dominant multisystem disorder characterized by hepatic bile duct paucity, cholestasis, and associated cardiac, skeletal, and ophthalmologic abnormalities. Facial features and occasional renal or vascular involvement may also occur.
