Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MAPK14 (p38 alpha) is a member of the stress-activated protein kinase class of MAPKs. The p38 MAPK cascade regulates cellular responses to stress, inflammation, and other signals. p38 MAPK is inactive in its nonphosphorylated form and becomes rapidly activated by dual phosphorylation of a Thr-Gly-Tyr motif.
There are four isoforms of p38 MAPK, differing in tissue expression and affinity for upstream activators and downstream effectors. Upon exposure to stimuli such as TNF, IL-1, or heat shock, MAPK kinase-3/6 phosphorylates Thr180 and Tyr182 residues of p38 MAPK. Phospho-p38 MAPK then activates transcription factors including ATF-2, CHOP-1, and MEF-2.
