Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs, less than 40% cross-reactivity with recombinant chicken RGM and recombinant mouse RGM-A is observed, and less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human RGM-B and RGM-C is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
RGMA is a member of the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) family that performs several functions in the developing and adult nervous system. It regulates cephalic neural tube closure, inhibits neurite outgrowth and cortical neuron branching, and contributes to mature synapse formation.
Binding to its receptor NEO1/neogenin activates RHOA-ROCK1/Rho-kinase signaling through UNC5B-ARHGEF12/LARG-PTK2/FAK1 cascade, leading to neuronal growth cone collapse and neurite outgrowth inhibition. RGMA-NEO1 interaction also influences HRAS-PTK2/FAK1-AKT1 pathway, resulting in HRAS inactivation.
Furthermore, RGMA functions as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) coreceptor that may signal through SMAD1, SMAD5, and SMAD8.
