MA3-919 detects sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticulum calcium (SERCA) 2 ATPase from canine, porcine, human, mouse, rabbit, and rat tissues.
This antibody recognizes SERCA2a and SERCA2b isoforms identically but does not recognize skeletal muscle (SERCA1) or housekeeping isoforms (SERCA3).
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunocytochemistry, and immunoprecipitation procedures.
By Western blot, it detects an ~110 kDa protein representing SERCA2 ATPase in rat cardiac tissue.
The antigen used is purified canine cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum vesicles.

Target Information

This gene encodes one of the SERCA Ca(2+)-ATPases, intracellular pumps located in the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticulum of muscle cells.
It catalyzes ATP hydrolysis coupled with calcium translocation from the cytosol into the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, regulating muscle contraction and relaxation.
Mutations in this gene cause Darier-White disease (keratosis follicularis), an autosomal dominant skin disorder characterized by loss of adhesion between epidermal cells and abnormal keratinization.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
