AIPL1 (Aryl hydrocarbon interacting protein like 1)는 Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA)와 관련된 단백질로, 광수용체 발달 이상에 의해 발생하는 상염색체 열성 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
이 단백질은 tetratricopeptide repeat 단백질로, ARA9과 높은 상동성을 가지며 HSP90 매개 핵 내 전이 및 aryl hydrocarbon receptor의 전사활성화에 관여합니다.
AIPL1은 Hsp90 및 Hsp70과 상호작용하며, 세포주기 조절 단백질 NUB1과도 결합합니다.
Hsp70과의 협력은 NUB1 포함체 형성을 억제하고, 이는 정상적인 광수용체 성숙에 필수적입니다.
AIPL1의 변이는 Hsp 샤페론과의 상호작용을 손상시켜 LCA를 유발할 수 있습니다.
