Target Information
S1P1 is a G-protein coupled receptor for sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) that interacts with G(i) proteins. S1P1 signaling activates RAC1, SRC, PTK2/FAK1, and MAP kinases, playing a key role in cell migration through actin cytoskeleton reorganization and lamellipodia formation. It is essential for normal chemotaxis toward S1P and for proper embryonic heart development and cardiac morphogenesis.
