Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MMP13 (collagenase 3) is involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins such as fibrillar collagen, fibronectin, tenascin-C (TNC), and aggrecan (ACAN). It cleaves triple-helical collagens (types I, II, and III), showing highest activity with soluble type II collagen.
MMP13 also degrades collagen types IV, XIV, and X, contributing to wound healing, tissue remodeling, cartilage degradation, bone development, mineralization, and ossification.
It is essential for normal embryonic bone development and ossification. Mutations in MMP13 can cause spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia Missouri type, metaphyseal anadysplasia 1, and metaphyseal dysplasia Sphar type.
