Despite its predicted molecular weight, NogoA typically migrates at approximately 180 kDa in SDS-PAGE.
A suggested positive control is human brain tissue lysate.
PA5-20367 can be used with blocking peptide PEP-0481.
Target Information
NogoA is a member of the reticulon family of integral membrane proteins implicated in various neurodegenerative disorders. Reticulon proteins regulate numerous cellular processes and interact with multiple proteins and receptors such as BACE.
NogoA was initially identified as a myelin-associated neurite outgrowth inhibitor and is highly expressed in oligodendrocytes in the CNS white matter. Blocking NogoA activity promotes axon regrowth and functional recovery in experimental CNS lesion models.
Elevated NogoA levels have been observed in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) muscle samples and in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, where autoantibodies to NogoA are found in serum and cerebrospinal fluid.
