Target Information

PD-1 (Programmed cell death protein 1, also known as PDCD-1) is expressed on activated T cells and plays a critical role in regulating immune responses.
It binds to ligands PDL-1 and PDL-2 on antigen-presenting cells, delivering inhibitory signals that limit T-cell activation.
In the absence of microbial “danger signals,” PD-1 engagement suppresses immune activation, preventing autoimmunity.
PD-1 knockout mice exhibit hyperactive immune systems and autoimmune phenotypes.
Although PD-1 has a predicted molecular weight, it often migrates at a higher molecular weight on SDS-PAGE.
