Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this family metabolize various substrates including ethanol, retinol, aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products.
The encoded protein forms a homodimer and shows high activity for oxidation of long-chain primary alcohols and S-hydroxymethyl-glutathione.
This enzyme plays a key role in cellular formaldehyde elimination, reducing its irritant and sensitizing effects.
The human genome contains several non-transcribed pseudogenes related to this gene.
