Product Specific Information

Peroxisomes are single-membrane-bound organelles present in virtually all eukaryotic cells. They participate in various catabolic and anabolic pathways, including:
- β-oxidation of very long-chain fatty acids
- Metabolism of hydrogen peroxide
- Plasmalogen biosynthesis
- Bile acid synthesis
The Peroxin family (over 20 members) is essential for peroxisome biogenesis. Among them, Peroxin 11 peroxisomal membrane proteins uniquely promote peroxisome division across multiple species. These proteins play a direct role in peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation and indirectly influence peroxisome abundance.
Peroxin 11γ (Peroxisomal biogenesis factor 11 gamma), also known as PEX11G or Peroxin-11C, is a 241-amino-acid multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the Peroxin 11 family. Two isoforms exist due to alternative splicing events.
