Target Information
The urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) regulates cell-surface plasminogen activation and is involved in various physiological and pathological processes.
Human PLAUR cDNA encodes 335 amino acids, including a 22-residue signal peptide and hydrophobic C-terminal region. The protein (~50 kDa) is glycosylated and anchored to the plasma membrane via glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage.
PLAUR (UPAR) interacts with SELL and beta-2 integrins in neutrophil membranes, influencing calcium mobilization.
UPAR mRNA levels are significantly elevated in advanced endometrial carcinomas, correlating with disease progression, recurrence, and mortality.
UPAR serves as a potential prognostic marker for advanced endometrial cancer.
