Product Specific Information

The epitope recognized by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing.
Acetone fixation is recommended for frozen sections.
Suggested positive control: human tonsil.
For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.

Mouse anti-Human CD104 antibody, clone 450-9D recognizes the human beta4 integrin, also known as CD104.


Target Information

Integrins are heterodimers composed of alpha and beta subunits that form noncovalent transmembrane glycoprotein receptors.
Different alpha/beta combinations determine ligand-binding specificity.
Integrins mediate cell adhesion and signal transduction that regulate gene expression and cell growth.
The integrin beta 4 subunit is a receptor for laminins and associates with the alpha 6 subunit, playing a key role in invasive carcinoma biology.
Mutations are linked to epidermolysis bullosa with pyloric atresia.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist for this gene.
