Target Information

TSH Receptor gene encodes a membrane protein that regulates thyroid cell metabolism. It acts as a receptor for thyrotropin and thyrostimulin, mediating activity via adenylate cyclase. Mutations in this gene are associated with various forms of hyperthyroidism. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
