Target Information
Tachykinin Receptor 1 (TACR1), also known as Neurokinin 1 receptor, is a member of the tachykinin receptor subfamily. It mediates phosphatidylinositol metabolism via the tachykinin substance P and plays roles in depression, anxiety, stress regulation, behavioral responses, neuronal survival, and cardiovascular and respiratory function. It is implicated in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis progression. Two variants are produced by alternative splicing. Expression has been reported in brain, blood lymphocytes, nose, small intestine, and stomach. ESTs isolated from brain and spleen libraries.
