Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD27 (T14), a 50–55 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein (member of the TNF-receptor superfamily) expressed on medullary thymocytes, peripheral T lymphocytes, some B lymphocytes, and NK cells.

Target Information

CD27 is a 50 kDa member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily that includes CD40 and CD30. Members of this family regulate cell proliferation and death.
Expression of CD27 and its ligand CD70 is predominantly confined to lymphocytes. CD27 is expressed as a disulfide-linked homodimer on mature thymocytes, peripheral blood T cells, and a subpopulation of B cells. Activation of T cells via the TCR-CD3 complex upregulates CD27 expression and leads to the release of soluble CD27 (sCD27), which serves as a prognostic marker in B cell malignancies.
CD27-binding protein (SIVA), a proapoptotic protein, is involved in apoptosis induced by CD27. Diseases associated with CD27 dysfunction include Lymphoproliferative Syndrome 2 and Autosomal Recessive Lymphoproliferative Syndrome.
