Target Information
LYVE1 (Lymphatic Vessel Endothelial Hyaluronan Receptor 1) is a major receptor for hyaluronan (HA) on lymphatic vessels. It encodes a 322-residue type I integral membrane glycoprotein, structurally related to CD44, and contains a Link module for HA binding.
Unlike CD44, LYVE1 is specific to lymphatic endothelium and absent from blood vessels, making it a powerful marker for lymphatic vessels.
LYVE1 plays a role in leukocyte and tumor cell trafficking to lymph nodes and contributes to lymphatic system function.
Markers associated with lymphatic endothelium include LYVE1, PALE, VEGFR3, and podoplanin.
Diseases associated with LYVE1 dysfunction include Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.
