The M806 anti-EGF antibody (Clone 3A8) has successfully been paired as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with coating antibody M805 (Clone 1H11).
Typical dilutions for sandwich ELISA include 1–3 µg/mL for coating and 0.125–0.5 µg/mL for detection.

Target Information

Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) binds to the EGF receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase. Activation of EGFR triggers diverse cellular pathways in response to environmental stimuli. Upon EGF binding, EGFR forms homo- or heterodimers with other family members, initiating distinct signaling cascades via recruitment of SH2-containing effector proteins.
EGF is widely expressed in kidney, cerebrum, prostate, and salivary glands, acting as a potent mitogenic factor. The phosphorylated receptor recruits adapter proteins such as GRB2, activating downstream signaling pathways including RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, and STAT.
Research indicates EGF may also activate NF-κB signaling. Defects in the EGF gene are associated with hypomagnesemia type 4, and dysregulation has been linked to certain cancers.
