The M807 anti-EGF antibody has successfully been paired as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with coating antibody MA805 (Clone 1H11).
Typical dilutions for sandwich ELISA:
- Coat: 1–3 µg/mL
- Detection: 0.125–0.5 µg/mL
Target Information
EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) binds to the EGF Receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase, triggering diverse cellular pathways. Upon activation, EGFR forms homo- or heterodimers with other family members, initiating distinct signaling cascades through recruitment of SH2-containing effector proteins.
EGF is widely expressed in kidney, cerebrum, prostate, and salivary glands, acting as a potent mitogenic factor. The phosphorylated receptor recruits adapter proteins like GRB2, activating downstream signaling cascades such as:
- RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK
- PI3K-AKT
- PLCγ-PKC
- STAT modules
Research indicates EGF may also activate the NF-κB signaling cascade.
Defects in the EGF gene cause hypomagnesemia type 4, and dysregulation has been linked to cancer progression.
