Target Information
CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419-amino-acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a pancreatic exopeptidase using zinc as a cofactor to catalyze the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins, playing a vital role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 may also participate in zymogen inhibition, helping regulate enzyme activation pathways. Abnormal CPA1 expression levels are associated with pancreatic cancer, suggesting a role in tumor progression or suppression.
