Target Information
CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a zinc-dependent pancreatic exopeptidase, catalyzing the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins, thus playing a key role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 activity may also regulate zymogen inhibition and enzyme activation pathways. Abnormal CPA1 expression is associated with pancreatic cancer, suggesting potential involvement in tumor progression or suppression.
