This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD255 / TWEAK, a type II transmembrane protein of the TNF superfamily that can weakly induce apoptosis in many cell types.
Recommended dilution: 10 µL for 100 µL of whole blood or 1×10⁶ cells in suspension.
Target Information
TNF-related weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) is a member of the TNF superfamily (TNFSF). It is a type II transmembrane protein, though a smaller, biologically active soluble form can be generated by cleavage near the membrane.
TWEAK exhibits multiple biological activities, including:
- Stimulation of cell growth and angiogenesis
- Induction of inflammatory cytokines
- Stimulation of apoptosis
TWEAK signals via the TweakR/Fn14 receptor, similar to other TNFSF members that bind receptors lacking death domains.
