This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of TRAIL-R1 (DR4), a human death receptor 4 expressed in most human tissues (spleen, peripheral blood leucocytes, thymus) and in a variety of tumor-derived cell lines.
Target Information
TRAIL-R1 (CD261, DR4) is a type I transmembrane protein, also called TRAIL receptor 1. The ligand for this DR4 death receptor has been identified and termed TRAIL, which is a member of the TNF family. DR4 mediates apoptosis and NF-κB activation in many cells and tissues. Apoptosis is a programmed cell death process essential for normal cellular differentiation and development. It is induced by coupling of TNF family cytokines (e.g., TNF, Fas ligand) and their death domain-containing receptors (TNFR1, Fas receptor).
