Target Information
Lipid kinase that phosphorylates monoacylglycerol and diacylglycerol to form lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and phosphatidic acid (PA), respectively. Does not phosphorylate sphingosine. Overexpression increases LPA formation and secretion, leading to EGFR transactivation and MAPK pathway activation, promoting cell growth.
