Target Information
Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18)은 저분자량 케라틴의 산성(type A) 아형에 속하며, Cytokeratin 8과 함께 존재합니다.
소화기, 호흡기, 비뇨생식기, 내분비 및 외분비 조직, 중피세포 등에서 발현되며, 대부분의 선암(adenocarcinoma)과 관암(ductal carcinoma)에서 존재하지만 편평상피암(squamous cell carcinoma)에서는 발견되지 않습니다.
간세포암(hepatocellular carcinoma)은 Cytokeratin 8과 18만을 발현합니다.
Cytokeratin 18 유전자의 돌연변이는 특발성 간경변(cryptogenic cirrhosis)과 관련이 있습니다.
이 단백질의 발현 패턴은 다양한 상피 기원의 종양 감별 진단에 활용되며, 면역조직화학(IHC), 세포병리학(cytopathology), 유세포분석(flow cytometry) 등에서 유용한 도구로 사용됩니다.
