Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of NF kappaB p105/p50 only when phosphorylated at Ser903.

Target Information

NF-kB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various extra- and intracellular stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and bacterial or viral products. It regulates cellular events including cell growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50), a 50 kDa functional subunit of NF-kB, belongs to the Rel protein family. It is synthesized as a p105 precursor protein containing an N-terminal conserved RHD region with nuclear localization signal, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains.
NFKB1 (p50) forms homodimers or heterodimers with p65, forming the functional NF-kB factor. It directs the nuclear translocation of NF-kB and is crucial for DNA binding.
NF-kB has been implicated in pathological processes such as AIDS, hematogenic cancer metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
