CD11a (LFA-1 alpha, ITGAL)은 CD18과 함께 LFA-1 복합체를 구성하는 αLβ2 인테그린입니다.
CD11a는 ICAM-1, -2, -3과의 결합을 통해 백혈구 간 접착 및 림프구 공동자극 신호 전달에 관여합니다.
세포 자극 시 CD11a는 고친화성 형태로 전환되어 리간드와의 강한 결합을 지원합니다.
CD11a는 면역세포 간 상호작용, 조직 특이적 정착, 세포 분화 및 T세포 기능 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
특이적 항체나 저분자 억제제를 통한 CD11a 기능 차단은 염증성 질환 치료의 중요한 접근법으로 활용되고 있습니다.
예를 들어, 인간화 항-CD11a 항체 Efalizumab (Raptiva)은 염증 부위로의 T세포 이동을 억제하며, simvastatin은 CD11a의 알로스테릭 부위에 결합하여 면역조절 및 림프구성 콜린성 활성 증가를 유도합니다.
