Target Information
Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and the major noncollagenous component of basement membranes. They are involved in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins consist of three non-identical chains (alpha, beta, gamma; formerly A, B1, and B2) forming a cruciform structure.
Mutations in the LMNB1 gene can cause Leukodystrophy, demyelinating, autosomal dominant, adult-onset (ADLD).
