For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS protein family. Members share distinct protein modules, including:

• Propeptide region
• Metalloproteinase domain
• Disintegrin-like domain
• Thrombospondin type 1 motif

Individual members differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs. The enzyme encoded by this gene lacks a C-terminal TS motif and is responsible for the degradation of aggrecan (cartilage proteoglycan) and brevican (brain extracellular matrix protein).
These cleavage activities suggest roles in arthritic disease and CNS processes, potentially in glioma progression.
