PTK2B (FAK2)는 세포질 티로신 키나아제로, 칼슘에 의해 유도되는 이온 채널 조절 및 MAP 키나아제 신호전달 경로의 활성화에 관여합니다. PTK2B는 액틴 세포골격 재구성, 세포 극성화, 이동, 부착, 확산, 그리고 골 재형성에 영향을 미칩니다. 또한 체액성 면역 반응 조절에 관여하며, 비장 내 B세포의 정상적 수준 유지와 이동에 필수적입니다. Integrin, collagen, immune, G-protein coupled, cytokine, chemokine, growth factor 수용체 등 다양한 신호전달 경로 하위에서 작용하며, 세포 스트레스 반응을 매개합니다. 비정상적인 FAK2 발현은 암세포의 증식, 이동, 침윤 및 전이에 관여할 수 있으며, glioma, 간세포암, 폐암, 유방암 등에서 발현 증가가 보고되었습니다.
