Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically recognizes the ~103 kDa NMDAR1 protein. Cross-reactivity with other NMDA receptor proteins has not been observed.
Target Information
NMDAR1 encodes a protein that is a critical subunit of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors, members of the glutamate receptor channel superfamily which are heteromeric protein complexes forming ligand-gated ion channels. These subunits contribute to synaptic plasticity, underlying memory and learning. Expression of different isoforms may be controlled by cell-specific factors, contributing to functional diversity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
