• In ELISAs, this antibody shows less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat (rr), porcine (rp), or human (rh) IL-1 alpha / IL-1F1.
• Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
• Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody (LAL method).

Target Information

IL-1 alpha (Interleukin-1 alpha) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is encoded by the IL1A gene, located on chromosome 2q13, and signals through receptors IL-1RI and IL-1RII, shared with IL-1 beta.
IL-1 alpha plays a key role in innate host defense by inducing other proinflammatory cytokines and acute-phase responses. Its activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA), which competes for receptor binding.
It influences NF-kappaB and MAPK signaling, and stimulates IL6 and COX-2 (PTGS2) expression, as well as nitric oxide production.
Elevated IL-1 alpha levels are associated with chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
