Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, this antibody does not cross-react with recombinant human Amphiregulin, BTC, HRG-alpha, HRG-beta, EGF, TGF-alpha, recombinant mouse Epigen, or Epiregulin.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
HBEGF is a growth factor that mediates its effects via EGFR, ERBB2, and ERBB4. It is required for normal cardiac valve formation and heart function, and promotes smooth muscle cell proliferation. HBEGF may be involved in macrophage-mediated cellular proliferation and is mitogenic for fibroblasts, but not endothelial cells. It binds EGFR with higher affinity than EGF and is a more potent mitogen for smooth muscle cells. It also acts as a diphtheria toxin receptor.
