Target Information
S100A12 is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cell types and are involved in the regulation of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100A12 participates in calcium-dependent signal transduction pathways and modulates cytoskeletal components to influence neutrophil activities. It also acts as a ligand for RAGE, triggering cellular activation and NF-κB signaling, which plays a key role in inflammatory responses. Additionally, S100A12 exhibits antimicrobial properties.
