Integrins는 세포-기질 또는 세포-세포 부착을 매개하며, 유전자 발현과 세포 성장을 조절하는 신호를 전달합니다.
이 유전자는 laminin 수용체로 작용하는 integrin β4 소단위를 암호화하며, α6 소단위와 함께 침습성 암의 생물학적 과정에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
