Product Specific Information
This antibody detects human FATP1 in cell transfectants but not in non-transfected parent cells when analyzed by flow cytometry.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS before use.
Target Information
SLC27A1 is a protein-coding gene that mediates the ATP-dependent import of long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) into cells by facilitating their translocation across the plasma membrane.
It also exhibits acyl-CoA ligase activity for long-chain and very-long-chain fatty acids. SLC27A1 may function as a direct transporter or as part of a multimeric protein complex to trap and direct fatty acids toward accumulation.
It plays a critical role in regulating available LCFA substrates in tissues with high levels of β-oxidation or triglyceride synthesis and may influence cholesterol metabolism.
