It has been successfully used in Western blotting and ICC/IF procedures.
By Western blot, it detects a 28 kDa protein representing mDIC.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal residues L(276) R K H F G I K V P T T(287) of mDIC.
Target Information
The mitochondrial dicarboxylate carrier protein (mDIC) belongs to the superfamily of mitochondrial transporters.
Its expression leads to mitochondrial hyperpolarization and succinate uptake.
It is highly expressed in adipose tissue, where expression is downregulated by insulin and upregulated by free fatty acids.
mDIC is also thought to play a role in glyceroneogenesis.
