Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with chicken, amphibian, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is tonsil tissue.
Target Information
OCT1 (POU2F1) is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3') and activates promoters of genes for small nuclear RNAs (snRNA), histone H2B, and immunoglobulins.
It modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR, and PGR.
During human herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, POU2F1 forms a multiprotein-DNA complex with viral transactivator protein VP16 and HCFC1, enabling transcription of viral immediate early genes.
