For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MCL1 (Myeloid cell leukemia-1) is a member of the Bcl-2 family involved in cell survival and differentiation. Isoform 1 inhibits apoptosis, while isoform 2 promotes it. MCL1 expression increases in response to DNA damage (e.g., ionizing or ultraviolet radiation, alkylating drugs), correlating with elevated GADD45 and Bax and reduced Bcl-2.
MCL1 localizes mainly to mitochondria and promotes cell viability under apoptotic conditions. It may inhibit apoptosis by heterodimerizing with pro-apoptotic proteins such as Bim or Bak.
Originally identified in differentiating myeloid cells, MCL1 is expressed in multiple cell types and is essential for embryogenesis and lymphocyte development. Two isoforms exist: MCL1L (anti-apoptotic) and MCL1S (pro-apoptotic).
