Target Information
PAK4 is highly expressed in prostate, testis, and colon. PAK4 interacts tightly with GTP-bound CDC42 and weakly with RAC. It phosphorylates and autophosphorylates, activating the JNK pathway.
PAK5, another PAK family kinase, contains a CDC42/Rac1 interactive binding (CRIB) motif and a Ste20-like kinase domain. It preferentially binds CDC42 in the presence of GTP, and this interaction requires the CRIB motif.
PAK6 translocates into the nucleus with the androgen receptor in response to androgen stimulation and is highly expressed in testis and prostate tissues. It is activated by MAP kinase 6 and p38 MAP kinase, suggesting a role in stress response signaling.
