CHEK1 (CHK1)는 DNA 손상 시 복제 억제에 관여하는 세린/트레오닌 단백질 키나아제로, DNA 손상 유도 체크포인트 네트워크의 핵심 매개체입니다.
CHK1은 유전적 안정성을 유지하는 데 중요한 진화적으로 보존된 단백질로, CHK1 억제 시 p53 결핍 암세포는 유사 분열 파국 및 세포사멸을 유도하지만 정상 세포는 G1 단계에서 정지합니다.
따라서 CHK1 억제제는 DNA 손상제의 항암 효과를 증대시킬 수 있으며, p53 결핍 암에서 유망한 치료 표적입니다.
