Target Information
CRBN (Cereblon) is a member of the Lon protease protein family and plays a critical role in brain development.
It is a component of the DCX (DDB1-CUL4-X-box) E3 protein ligase complex, which mediates ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of target proteins.
CRBN is required for limb outgrowth and FGF8 expression and regulates the assembly and neuronal surface expression of large-conductance calcium-activated potassium channels (via interaction with KCNT1).
It is widely expressed, with high expression in brain tissue.
