Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD30 (Ki-1, TNF Receptor Superfamily Member 8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily. It was originally identified as a surface antigen of Hodgkin’s and Reed-Sternberg cells using monoclonal antibody Ki-1.
Its ligand, CD30L (CD153), mediates effects such as cell proliferation, activation, differentiation, and apoptosis. CD30 plays a critical role in the pathophysiology of Hodgkin’s disease and other CD30⁺ lymphomas and acts as a costimulatory molecule during thymic negative selection.

CD30 expression is found in:

  • Hodgkin’s and Reed-Sternberg cells
  • Certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (e.g., Burkitt’s lymphoma)
  • Virus-infected T and B cells
  • Activated normal T and B cells

In T cells, CD30 is expressed on subsets producing Th2-type cytokines and on CD4⁺/CD8⁺ thymocytes co-expressing CD45RO and IL-4 receptor.
Soluble CD30 (sCD30) serves as a marker of Th2 immune response.
TRAF2 and TRAF5 interact with CD30, mediating NF-κB activation. CD30 positively regulates apoptosis and limits autoreactive CD8 effector T cell proliferation, protecting against autoimmunity. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

CD30 is expressed by mononuclear cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Reed-Sternberg cells, most anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL), and embryonal carcinomas.
