Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve ~1 mg/mL antibody concentration.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The Class II PI3 kinases, including PIK3C2A, phosphorylate the 3 position of PI or PI4P. Though not as well studied as the Class I PI3 kinases, Class II enzymes are involved in receptor-mediated processes such as insulin signaling, neuronal survival, and growth factor signaling.
PI3-kinases play key roles in pathways regulating cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, survival, migration, and intracellular trafficking.
PIK3C2A contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal C2 domain, characteristic of Class II PI3-kinases. C2 domains mediate calcium-dependent phospholipid binding and protein–protein interactions.
This protein’s PI3-kinase activity is not sensitive to nanomolar wortmannin levels and can be activated by insulin, suggesting involvement in integrin-dependent signaling.
