Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Trypsin Antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, as well as purified and partially purified Trypsin (Bovine Pancreas).
Cross-reactivity against Trypsin from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

Trypsin is a 24 kDa enzyme of the serine proteinase family. It is produced in the pancreas as an inactive precursor, trypsinogen, and becomes active in the gastrointestinal tract where it degrades proteins into large peptides.
Trypsin prefers lysine and arginine residues, and one of its substrates, chymotrypsinogen, is cleaved to produce active chymotrypsin.
Elevated levels of immunoreactive trypsin in the bloodstream can indicate pancreatic malfunction and are used as an indicator in cystic fibrosis screening and diagnosis.
