Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Protein G (Streptococcus species).
Cross-reactivity against Protein G from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

Protein G is an immunoglobulin-binding protein expressed in group C and G Streptococcal bacteria, similar to Protein A but with differing binding specificities.
It is a cell surface protein used in antibody purification through binding to the Fab and Fc regions.
The native molecule also binds albumin.
