Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific.
They combine multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, offering both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.

These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.
Each lot contains a known mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 3 (TIMP3) is a member of the TIMP gene family that inhibits matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), enzymes responsible for extracellular matrix degradation.
TIMP3 is expressed upon mitogenic stimulation and binds irreversibly to zinc-dependent MMPs, inactivating them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor.
It also plays roles in nervous system development, tissue regeneration, and visual perception.
In humans, the TIMP3 gene is located on chromosome 22.
