Product Specific Information

The 4H11 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD34, also known as mucosialin. CD34 belongs to a family of single-pass transmembrane proteins with heavily glycosylated extracellular domains. CD34 is expressed on hematopoietic progenitors and is widely used as a marker for stem cell isolation. The 4H11 clone belongs to class III epitopes, indicating reactivity with a protein epitope.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry on human peripheral blood cells (5 µL per test).
A test is defined as staining a 100 µL sample (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

CD34 is a highly glycosylated monomeric surface protein (111–115 kDa) expressed on various stem cell populations. It plays roles in:

• Cell adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation
• Mediating attachment to bone marrow matrix or stromal cells
• Acting as a scaffold for glycan attachment and lectin binding
• Potential signal transduction via phosphorylation by protein kinase C

Diseases associated with CD34 dysfunction include dermatofibrosarcoma and neurofibroma.
