Product Specific Information
Description:
The CD28.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD28 molecule, a 44 kDa homodimer expressed by thymocytes, mature T cells, and plasma cells. CD28 binds to CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) and acts as a potent co-stimulator of T cells. Signaling through CD28 enhances IL-2 and IL-2 receptor expression as well as cytotoxicity of CD3-activated T cells.

- Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
- Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
- Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test.
- A test is defined as the amount of antibody staining a cell sample in 100 µL volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Fluorochrome Characteristics:

Fixation:

Target Information
CD28 antigen is a 44 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric T cell surface glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on most peripheral blood T lymphocytes and functions as a critical costimulatory receptor by binding CD80 and CD86 on antigen-presenting cells. CD28 prevents T cells from entering anergic or apoptotic states. In mice, CD28 is expressed on all CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells, with highest expression on immature thymocytes. Dysregulation of CD28 is associated with diseases such as mycosis fungoides and Sezary’s disease.
